Agriculture Club
The Agriculture Club at JWCC is rooted in service, leadership, public relations, and fun. Club highlights include grilling at the annual Blazer BBQ, hosting a spring banquet, competing in state and national post-secondary agriculture contests, and attending top agriculture conferences and expos. Any JWCC student with an interest in agriculture – whether you’re studying it or simply passionate about it – is welcome to join!

Art Club
Calling all creatives! Art Club is a space for students to explore and express their creativity through various mediums – painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, and more. The club hosts art nights, gallery trips, collaborative projects, and workshops to help students develop their skills and connect with other artists. You don’t have to be in an art class to join – just bring your imagination and a willingness to create.

The Bass Fishing Club is a student-led organization that gives members the chance to sharpen their fishing skills, compete in regional and national bass tournaments, and build connections with fellow students who share a love for fishing and the outdoors.

Blazer Beats
Blazer Beats is JWCC’s music performance group for students who play an instrument and want to be at the heart of campus energy. From pumping up the crowd at basketball games to bringing music to local schools, this club blends school spirit with community outreach.
What we do:
- Perform at JWCC home basketball games alongside the Wood Pile
- Visit local elementary schools to lead music activities and promote music education
- Host events centered around jazz, instrumental, and choral music

Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) at JWCC is a nondenominational student organization focused on faith, fellowship, and service. We offer weekly Bible studies, group prayer, service opportunities, and social events designed to build meaningful connections. Cheerleading
JWCC Cheerleading is all about school spirit, teamwork, and crowd engagement. The squad cheers at all home men’s and women’s basketball games, leading the crowd in support of our teams and creating an exciting game-day atmosphere. Members are expected to attend all scheduled events, understand their role as spirit leaders, and help energize the crowd. Students interested in joining the team are encouraged to contact the coach for more information about tryouts.

Dance Team
The JWCC Blazerettes Dance Team brings energy and school spirit to life through dynamic performances at home basketball games, campus events, and community functions. Specializing in pom, jazz, kick, and lyrical styles, the team choreographs and performs original routines while also giving back through community service. Tryouts are held once or twice a year, and any student with a passion for dance, school spirit, or performance is encouraged to audition!

Looking for a place to game, compete, and connect? The Gaming Guild is a community for students who love video games, board games, tabletop RPGs, and everything in between. Whether you’re a casual player or a competitive strategist, there’s a seat for you at the table.
The club hosts game nights, tournaments, and collaborative events where students can relax, have fun, and build friendships through play. All skill levels and interests are welcome—if you love gaming, this is your guild.

Gay-Straight Alliance
Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is a welcoming and inclusive space for all students. While the club focuses on issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community, our mission is to educate, engage, and unite everyone through open dialogue and shared experiences. GSA hosts a variety of events, from holiday celebrations and guest speakers to awareness campaigns and fundraisers. Livestock Evaluation Club
JWCC Livestock Judging Club gives students the opportunity to compete in prestigious livestock judging competitions across the country, including the National Western (Denver, CO), North American Livestock Expo (Louisville, KY), American Royal (Kansas City, MO), World Beef Expo (Milwaukee, WI), and Boilermaker Classic (Lafayette, IN).
The club enhances the educational experience of agriculture students by connecting them with producers and industry experts nationwide. Members develop skills in evaluating cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats using scientific principles of animal growth, muscling, and conformation. Competitions challenge students to rank livestock accurately and present their reasoning to expert judges—sharpening critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.

Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa, an international honors organization with more than 900 chapters, recognizes academic achievement at the community college level. The Alpha Tau Gamma chapter at John Wood was chartered in 1991 and meets throughout the year working on projects related to Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. At John Wood, Phi Theta Kappa has the following membership requirements: A student must have completed twelve semester hours of associate degree work, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, and be currently enrolled in classes at John Wood. Students are recognized with special regalia at annual graduation ceremonies.

Rotaract Club
The Rotaract Club at John Wood Community College is open to all students who attend any JWCC campus. However, it is primarily housed at the JWCC Southeast Education Center.
This club is a great way to extend a hand in your local community. Rotaract club teaches students the importance of teamwork through service projects, develops and strengthens leadership skills that can benefit a student professionally when they graduate and begin their career.

Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) is your chance to take an active role in shaping campus life. We meet monthly to support student clubs, fund events, promote Student Initiatives, appoint student reps to key college committees, and ensure the student voice is heard at every level.
SGA is open to all JWCC students—whether you’re passionate about leadership, interested in event planning, or simply want to stay involved and informed.
Meetings are held in person in Room D022 at 12:30 – 1:30 PM and all students are encouraged to attend in person when possible to participate fully in discussions and decisions.

Student Nurses Organization
Student Nurses Organization (SNO) is for those interested in a career in nursing. SNO helps to promote professionalism and safe nursing practice through guiding the student nurse to nurture an interest in nursing practice and community healthcare concerns. SNO also focuses on sculpting people into helping and healing everyone fairly and equally.
SNO provides opportunities, promotes and encourages participation regardless of a person’s race, color, creed, sex, lifestyle, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender, marital status, lifestyle, disability, or economic status. SNO allows students to have input in nursing education and influence health care. SNO also encourages correspondence between chapters and participation with SGA as well as other related health and community organizations.

Theatre Guild
Interested in acting on stage? Or running a show behind the curtain?
Theatre Guild promotes theatrical productions and acting opportunities. The John Wood Theatre Guild is open to any John Wood student who is interested in furthering their theatrical experience.
A full staged play is sponsored by the club each year that is auditioned in the fall. Auditions are open to all students, as well as stage crew opportunities.

Turning Point USA
Turning Point USA’s mission is to educate students about the importance of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and constitutional rights through innovative campus activities and non-partisan, thought-provoking discussion.
This is done with the use of provided academic resources, which include: weekly activism pamphlets, short videos, free-of-charge contributor speeches, and in-person support by TPUSA staff.
